Domestic Steam Inhaler For Respiratory Infections

Steam inhalation is a one of the most widely used home remedies to soothe and open nasal passages. Steam therapy is practiced in most countries from over 2000 years. The practice involves inhaling water vapor from a hot water container by covering the head by a cloth to reduce the steam wastage.

This product was designed by me as the inhouse designer with the guidance of a doctor, for Dankotuwa Porcelain. Dankotuwa intends to use this product as a community service in the pandemic season.

The main intention of this product is to provide a more comfortable, safe and a natural experience of steam inhaling for the patient. The product offers two different steam inhaling options using two outputs. The curved mouth piece is designed as both average sized men and women would be able to use placing the product on a dining table. The nasal inhaling unit will provide a soothing continuous stream of steam to the nasal cavities. The product is manufactured from high quality porcelain.

The product is designed to direct the steam mixing with the perfect mix of air and steam to provide a burn free sensation. The bottom-heavy design provides more stability, securing the contained hot water without accidental spillages of swallowing. Aesthetically designed shape impersonators a more homey and elegant feeling without the eerie appearance of a medical instrument.
